Building a house has always been associated with a large undertaking and a long time to implement the plan. A house takes years to build, which for some may be the main factor that determines that they give up on their dreams. It is different in the case of building a frame house. This is an option for those who want to live on their own in a moment. How long does it take to build a frame house?
It is worth realizing early enough that not everything depends on us and we do not have real influence on everything. This is primarily about the production of prefabricated elements. Depending on the factory, the wait for finished materials can take up to 6 months. To avoid this, you should choose a construction company that cooperates with proven and already trusted companies that offer prefabricated elements practically at the moment.
When considering how long it takes to build a frame house, you need to take into account the design time of such a building, as well as the waiting time for the project valuation. Here, too, the size of the company we decide on is of great importance. If it’s a small business, the wait time may be longer. Where more people work, you can count on shorter deadlines.
Once the design and valuation are in, you can move on to implementation. We start with the foundations. In frame houses, a foundation slab is most often used. Thanks to it, the implementation time is significantly shortened, and it is also characterized by excellent thermal parameters. Laying the foundations in this case takes about a week. With a traditional foundation, this time is extended to 3-4 weeks.
The wooden structure is conducive to quick action. In fact, its installation can be done in 1-2 days, even if it is a two-storey house. However, it happens that some investors decide on semi-fabricated walls. They require finishing works already on the construction site. This applies, m.in to inserting windows and making a façade insulation layer. In this case, the installation work takes longer, often 3-4 weeks.
It is not possible to clearly determine how long it takes to build a frame house, because a lot depends on the condition in which it is to be handed over to the client. In the closed shell state, the building will most likely be ready earlier. After the installation of the wall structure and window joinery, the whole thing must be covered with a roof. A simple gable roof covers within about a week. However, when it comes to more complex multi-pitched roofs, the company may need up to 2 weeks more to cover them.
The developer’s condition requires more additional work inside the building. It is necessary to make electrical and water installations, insulate floors and install heating. Houses in the developer’s standard also already have a floor and OSB boards in the attic. At this stage, the façade is also being made. The exception is when walls with a ready-made façade have been selected. However, this stage of work should not last longer than a month, a maximum of one and a half.
How long it takes to build a frame house depends on many factors. However, it is crucial to choose a company that will comprehensively take care of your project. A good contractor is able to put your house into use after just 3 months of work. So 90 days should be enough to build a frame house, although this is not the rule and standard, and this time sometimes increases.
