The implementation of the investment of our dream house requires the supply of electricity to the construction site, necessary for all work with the use of power tools. In practice, this electricity is necessary almost from the beginning of construction. Electricity supplied directly to the construction site in the form of a temporary connection is construction electricity. What does the connection look like in practice? What applications and where should be submitted to ensure access to energy? And most importantly – what are the prices of construction electricity? It is worth getting acquainted with this important topic in the entire investment.

After deciding on the power of construction electricity, it is worth considering the tariff that will be the most economical for us. It is worth analyzing the course of construction and working hours. The right choice can guarantee significant savings. Currently, there are three tariffs for construction electricity:
How much we pay for construction electricity is strictly dependent on the planned works and the tariff selected for them. What’s more, these prices often vary between different electricity suppliers, although there are places where this choice is very limited. Choosing the right tariff is crucial to controlling investment costs – e.g. choosing the C12b tariff for unintended work during the day can cause a significant additional burden on the construction budget.
For example, in March 2021, the rates in the C11 tariff ranged from PLN 0.4456/kWh (Energa) to PLN 0.5341/kWh (Innogy). Slight savings were generated by the use of the second zone of the C12a tariff – from 0.4009 PLN/kWh (Tauron) to 0.4173 PLN/kWh (Innogy). On the other hand, the biggest savings could be achieved by using the C12b night tariff, in which the prices per 1kWh were lower than the prices in the C11 tariff by approx. PLN 0.06-0.13.
IMPORTANT! Prices for construction electricity are dynamic and subject to change, so it is always worth reading the suppliers’ price lists in detail.
