We spend more and more on electricity, which is caused by the increase in electricity costs, as well as the increasing number of electrical devices in the household. This forces the search for alternative energy sources that will allow you to keep your expenses at an optimal level. One of the modern solutions is photovoltaics, i.e. obtaining free electricity, which is generated using solar energy. What is the profitability of photovoltaics in a single-family house? And how much does such a solution cost?
The basic element of the entire system are photovoltaic panels, consisting of cells that generate direct current as a result of the sun’s rays affecting them. In the next stage, it is converted into alternating current. A photovoltaic installation with a capacity of 4kW allows you to save about PLN 2200 using 100% of the generated energy. The cost of photovoltaic cells is about PLN 28 thousand, so the investment theoretically pays for itself after 12 years. However, taking into account the increase in electricity prices, we can conclude that the savings will be greater and the investment will pay off much sooner. However, this is not the only advantage of a photovoltaic installation in a single-family house.
It does not cost anything to produce energy with photovoltaic panels, of course, it is necessary to invest in advance both in the purchase of panels and in their installation. However, you already know that it can pay for itself after just a few years. In addition, it is a completely ecological way of obtaining energy. Renewable energy sources reduce carbon dioxide emissions, which is good for the environment. You don’t have to worry that you will be deprived of electricity on sunny days. The installation first uses the accumulated resources from solar energy, and if it is not available, also from the public grid. You can receive subsidies for the purchase of panels and the creation of installations. It is currently partially financed by the Environmental Protection Fund. The installation of panels is unlimited. They are installed in places that are the sunniest to make the most of the potential of solar radiation.
It is an always available and inexhaustible source of energy that will never run out. Even if you don’t feel the sun’s rays reaching the earth’s surface, you can benefit from them. You can sell the excess stored energy to the grid. In this case, nothing is wasted. A photovoltaic installation makes us self-sufficient and independent of electricity supply, we do not have to worry about electricity increases.
A photovoltaic installation is a package of huge benefits. However, it is not completely without flaws. First of all, you need to take into account the relatively high costs of purchasing panels and their installation. However, you can apply for funding from the Environmental Protection Fund. The money received usually allows to cover about 10-30% of the cost of the entire investment. However, it is difficult to find other negative aspects related to a photovoltaic installation. As a manufacturer of energy-efficient houses, we know from experience that even initially high costs pay off, and you additionally gain independence, take care of the natural environment and the air you breathe, and have a guarantee of constant access to electricity.
The program of the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management was created to reduce CO2 emissions. If you want to receive it, you must meet several formal and legal requirements. It is necessary to install new devices for which the manufacturer provides a warranty of at least 5 years. The program provides for reimbursement of costs in the form of both a loan and a grant, which amounts to a maximum of 30%. It is dedicated to individuals, local government units and housing communities.
